Trevethan Distillery Celebrates Continued Partnership with the Trencherman’s Guide 33 LAUNCH at Adam Handling MBE’s Ugly Butterfly

Trevethan Distillery is proud to continue its partnership with the Trencherman’s Guide as a sponsor for the third consecutive year, supporting the South West’s most prestigious celebration of fine dining and hospitality excellence.

Since 1992, the Trencherman’s Guide has set the standard for discerning diners, revealing the most exquisite restaurants, dining pubs, and foodie hotels across Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Bath, Somerset and the Cotswolds. Now in its 33rd edition, the guide remains the definitive showcase of the region’s culinary brilliance and innovation.

This year’s glamorous launch took place at Ugly Butterfly 2.0, Chef Adam Handling MBE’s acclaimed restaurant at The Headland Hotel, Newquay. The event brought together the great and the good of the South West hospitality scene, including chair of the Trencherman’s Committee, Michael Caines MBE, for a spectacular multi-course lunch cooked by Trencherman’s chefs Adam Handling and Jamie Park of Ugly Butterfly, Elly Wentworth of Fowlescombe Farm and Millbrook Inn near Salcombe, and Ben Champkin of Catch at the Old Fish Market in Weymouth.

Guests were welcomed with a Champagne reception complemented by Trevethan Gin and Navas tonics, followed by dishes paired with exceptional wines from Hallgarten & Novum Wine and produce supplied by Classic Fine Foods, Harvey & Brockless, Philip Warren Butchers, St Ewe and Wing of St Mawes.

For Trevethan, partnerships like this go beyond sponsorship. They represent a shared commitment to excellence and to the people shaping the region’s culinary landscape. Aligning with the Trencherman’s Guide allows us to celebrate the artistry and innovation of the South West’s finest chefs while positioning Trevethan among the brands that define quality and refinement in hospitality.

That alignment has naturally evolved into new and exciting collaborations, most notably with the Adam Handling Group. Following our shared involvement with Trencherman’s, Trevethan is now proudly served as the house pour at Ugly Butterfly and the group’s newly opened country pub, The Tartan Fox. The partnership is built on shared values of craftsmanship, sustainability, and innovation, celebrating the South West’s ingredients, artistry and hospitality at their finest.

Trevethan continues to champion the spirit of British craftsmanship, honouring the artistry of distillation while celebrating the people who transform exceptional ingredients into extraordinary experiences. As an IWSC Gold Outstanding award-winning distillery, Trevethan shares the same pursuit of perfection that drives the South West’s leading chefs, restaurateurs and hospitality teams. Together, they showcase a region defined by innovation and excellence at a world-class level.

We look forward to working with and supporting the Trencherman’s community for the year ahead, continuing to celebrate the South West as one of the UK’s most inspiring destinations for food, drink and hospitality.
