In search of a superhero to bid on Luke’s special bottle!

We are auctioning Luke’s superhero designed bottle filled with award winning Trevethan Cornish Gin with proceeds split between superheroes at home & in Ukraine.

We’ve had a special visitor in the distillery this week, putting his creative and kind hearted ideas into practice by designing his very own bottle fit for a superhero!

Luke, who turned 5 in December, visited the distillery with mum Sophie, who runs the production & labelling here at Trevethan Distillery in South East Cornwall. Luke was eager to create his very own bottle just like his mum does. With a haul of superhero stickers under his arm he set to work on his chosen glass bottle.

After witnessing his mum adding eye catching gold stickers to each bottle, Luke realised he was missing out. Sophie explained that the sticker was a “medal for winning a very special award for excellent work like you do at school”, Luke insisted one went on his bottle too.

Our head distiller, John Hall, suggested that Luke’s special bottle should be filled with the same batch of our original Cornish gin that was sampled and went onto win a ‘Gold Outstanding’ medal by the IWSC last month.

After watching the bottle filled and sealed Luke told John he was going to “give it to a superhero because superheroes help people” he just wasn’t sure how he would get it to them.

What started as a little bit of fun, got us thinking – maybe we really can fulfil the rest of Luke’s wishes and get this bottle to a superhero. Unaware of the contents, Luke left the bottle with us as we promised his wish would be granted, we would auction the bottle, a superhero would bid for it and the money donated would help people, to which he seemed overjoyed.

To keep things simple, we are auctioning Luke’s Superhero bottle containing our original Cornish gin from the same batch that was tasted by spirits experts at the IWSC and went onto receive a 2022 ‘Gold Outstanding’ medal in the London Dry gin category.

100% of the amount received from the highest bidder will be equally split between the DEC’s Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal and Devon & Cornwall Food Action, helping superheroes at home and in Ukraine.

Please email your maximum bid amount along with your contact phone number to carly.fordy@trevethandistillery.com before 11.59pm on Monday 25th April 2022.

Fingers crossed the highest bidder can make Luke’s wish come true - from one superhero to another! #notallsuperheroeswearcapes

*** UPDATE *** 10/05/2022 - We are delighted to announce that we raised a total of £150 which has been split equally between our two charities. Thank you to everyone who entered the auction.
